BABIES & DOGS
Many couples are concerned about the transition when adding a baby to a household where their dog has always been “the baby”. Strategies and hand-outs for guidance through that transition are provided.
Possible topics include:
- Skills a dog should possess if he/she can tolerate the company of young children.
- Things to do before the baby arrives: making your dog work, positive reinforcement, regular routines, language and toys, practice sessions.
- Things to do when the baby is born but still in the hospital.
- Bringing baby home.
- The first few days.
- As time goes on.
A session about Dogs & Babies can be part of a regular Prenatal session or as a dedicated session only about Babies & Dogs. We can also do these sessions online.
